Cherry Beresford

Cherry was born in England, grew up in Zimbabwe and have travelled extensively. She has lived in Africa, London, Israel and Minnesota USA.

Cherry was a registered Nurse and Midwife and emigrated with family to Australia in 1982.

In 1993 she joined the Peninsula and McClelland Art Societies and has been painting regularly since. she has had wonderful inspirational Tutors in Watercolours and Acrylics – including Joan Bognuda, Robert Wade, Malcolm Beattie, Alvaro Castignet –and Colin Johnson who taught her how to ‘See’ !

Cherry has entered paintings in many Art Shows and won awards including –

Best Watercolour at Flinders Art Show (my first award 1996) , Best painting of Children at Wangaratta Art Show, Best Watercolour under $500 at Bentleigh OLSH Art Show, Best in Show Peninsula Art Society Spring Art Show, Best Botanical Berwick Artfest, Second prize Seascape Berwick Artfest and also eight Highly Commended to date.

Cherry enjoys the flexibility of Acrylics at the moment  and is  inspired by a wide range of  subjects.
